More pictures of Hampi

Hampi is an ancient town related to epic Ramayan legendary hero Hanuman. In the first picture you see a view of Vijayanagar town now being excavated on your left and Hampi on the right.
2nd,3rd,and 4th pictures show markets infront of Virupaksha temple,Pan-Supari(beetle) infront of Krishna temple and in front of another Krishna temple which has the stone chariot. These markets existed from ancient times as evidenced by the remains and at one time they were frequented by foreign traders who came to trade in gems etc.

This picture shows the archway to Rama temple. Do you notice the Star of David. I also wondered what it is doing in this ancient Hindu temple. Well it is a Hindu tantric symbol depicting a shatkon (sixsided figure)and it is independantly found in Judaism,Christanity and Islam
